What is "Dina" all about?
A personal note from Terry:
In the Summer of 2009, Dina was created by my late husband, Phil Higginbottom and myself, Terry Holladay. Our dream was to make a significant difference in the lives of the indigenous Fijian people on the far remote outer islands. Our mission started with Phil,(Infectious Disease M.D.) and I conducting medical clinics at dozens of villages and schools. Phil passed away a short time after we established our 501c3, but I have continued our journey, and am quite proud to say, I really think we are making a difference! Since Dr. Higgies passing, through generous donations, we have provided our beloved Malakati Village with a 16' village boat christened "Dr. Phil Forever", a village generator, The Dina Store, yearly school supplies & uniforms, and the addition of projects named LuLu's Heart (musical instruments) & Doc Holladay (providing dental care). "Thank you" or as we would say in Fijian "Vanaka Vakalevu!"

is located on the island of Necula, in The Yasawas, N.W. from the mainland of Nadi (International Airport).

Malakati offers the HomeStay experience of a lifetime! A long white sandy beach awaits, as a village boat will meet you upon your departure from the Ferry or SeaPlane. Volleyball, snorkeling, hiking the mountain, visit the famous cave on a neighboring island, village visit & more. 3 meals prepared daily is including in the HOMESTAY modest fee.

Our mission is to make a sustainable difference to the indigenous Fijians in their health and dental needs; and to provide the means for education to the village children.
97% of all donations go directly to helping the natives. The remaining 3% is used for website upkeep and the annual Dina year-in-review cards sent directly to our generous donors and supporters.
